Video ad examples, with the structure explained
Our own ads, then 91 real ads from the public Meta Ad Library, each linked to its listing. Underneath each one is the brand and the format, because the format is the transferable part.
By format
One real ad for each format. The format is the variable worth testing first.
Our own ads
One ad, cut for every placement: 9:16 for Reels and Stories, 4:5 for the feed, 1:1 for everything else.
71 brand ads from the Meta Ad Library
Seven brands across pets, fashion, kitchen appliances, real estate, bikes and kids' rainwear. Each tile links to the live listing.
Twenty formats from the biggest brands
Real ads from big brands, found in the public Meta Ad Library. They are not our work and these brands are not our clients. They are here to show the kinds of formats worth stealing.
What to look at in each one
The first second and a half
Whether the hook is a claim, a question, a visual surprise or a problem being named. This is where most ads are lost, and it is the cheapest thing to vary.
When the product first appears
Early builds recognition; late builds curiosity. Both work, for different offers, and it is worth knowing which your audience responds to rather than guessing.
Where the offer lands
An offer at the top filters hard and converts the ready; an offer at the end needs the middle to have earned attention.
What the captions carry
Most of these will be watched on mute. If the ad does not work with the sound off, it does not work.
Questions, answered.
Can I get these ads for my product?
Yes — every format on this page is a starting point in the app. Pick the one closest to your category and swap your product in.
Which format performs best?
It depends on price point, how visual the product is, and how much explanation the purchase needs. Problem-solution travels widest; unboxing needs a product that is satisfying to reveal.
Are these real ads that ran?
Yes. Every brand ad on this page was live in the public Meta Ad Library when we collected it, and each tile links to its listing. The big-brand section is not our work; those brands are not our clients.
