TikTok ads that don't look like ads
On TikTok, people scroll past anything that feels like a commercial. The ads that hold attention look like the videos around them. We make those from the photos and clips you already own.
What makes TikTok creative different
TikTok is a full-screen, sound-on feed. Viewers decide in a moment whether to keep watching, so the first second has to give them a reason. A product beauty shot with a logo rarely does. A person reacting, a problem shown on screen, or a bold claim in the captions often does.
The feed is also mostly made by creators. An ad that copies that look, with someone talking to camera, quick cuts and plain captions, sits in the feed without a jolt. That is why UGC-style ads, meaning ads made to look like user-generated content, are so common there.
Sound is part of how TikTok is built, so a voiceover or a track that fits the mood can earn its place. Still caption every ad, because plenty of people watch on mute.
Ad types that suit TikTok
Real user ads
UGC-style ads with built-in licensed or synthetic presenters. The closest thing to a creator video, without booking a creator.
AI avatar ads
A presenter who explains the product to camera. Useful for demos and how-it-works ads. We don't make custom avatars.
Clone ads
Take the structure of an ad that is already working, yours or a competitor's, and rebuild it around your product.
Instant ads
Clips in, a finished captioned ad out. Good for turning old footage into fresh TikTok cuts.
Batch variations
Several versions of one idea with different hooks, so you can see which opening holds people.
Video editor
Swap a hook, change captions or stickers, change the music, and export again without starting over.
Specs, safe zones and captions
TikTok recommends vertical 9:16 video for in-feed ads. The app's buttons, caption text and profile name sit over parts of the screen, so keep words and logos out of those areas. That clear area is called the safe zone. Our TikTok specs guide has TikTok's own numbers and the date we checked them.
We burn captions into every ad and keep them inside the safe zone. You can change the caption style after the render if it does not fit your brand.
Testing and refreshing on TikTok
Ads on TikTok can wear out fast. This is called creative fatigue: the same people see the same video too often and stop reacting. The fix is a steady flow of new hooks and angles rather than one perfect ad.
A simple rhythm works for most brands. Launch a few versions of one idea, keep the ones that hold attention and bring in sales, cut the rest, and add new versions before the winners wear out. Our creative testing guide walks through the method step by step.
If you want results side by side, Performance analytics reads your TikTok and Meta results in one view, ranked by spend, CPA (cost per acquisition, what you pay for each sale) and ROAS (return on ad spend, revenue for each dollar spent). It never changes anything in your account.
Questions, answered.
Can I use these ads as Spark Ads?
Spark Ads boost a post that is already on a TikTok account. You can post one of our finished videos to your account and then boost it in TikTok Ads Manager. We don't post or boost anything for you.
Do I need a creator?
No. Real user ads use built-in licensed or synthetic presenters. If you have creator footage you are allowed to reuse, Instant ads can cut it into new ads.
Do AI ads need to be labelled on TikTok?
TikTok has its own rules on AI-generated content, and they can change. Check TikTok's current advertising policies before you launch. Our usage rights and safety page explains what you own and how we handle presenters.
How many TikTok ads should I make?
Enough to test several hooks against your current best ad. In the app, credits roll over, so you can make a batch whenever you need one.
